Florida Springs Diving

We started our July vacation with a trip to the springs in Florida. We had heard a lot about Blue Grotto, but had never been there. We had to be in High Springs on July 6 and 7 for a Cavern Diving Certification class (more on that below) so we dove Blue Grotto on the 5th. Even though it was in the 90s outside, we still had to wear 3/2 wetsuits and hoods to brave the 72 degree water. It is one of those dives that we can say we did, but probably won't go back to.

The Cavern Diving Certification class we took was incredible. We learned so much in that course - it was amazing. We spent the first part of the first day in the classroom and the rest of the day doing land drills. The second day was all in the water. We both walked away feeling like it was the best class we had taken. We learned a lot about trim and buoyancy, among other things. After completing the course, we are seriously considering taking the single tank intro to cave course.
