Early in March we spent the better part of our weekend at Lynnhaven Dive Center to participate in the shop's 12th annual Dive for a Cure event. While we have participated in some capacity over the years, this was the first year we actually got in the water and participated in the 24-hour dive-a-thon. Scott and I each dived for an hour late on Friday night and we brought Samantha down the next morning so she could participate as well. The event was a great success - between the dive-a-thon, the silent auction, the 50/50 raffle, t-shirt sales and the live auction Lynnhaven raised more than $47,000 for American Cancer Society, Foundation for Applied Research in Gastroinestinal Oncology, Cancer Care Foundation of Tidewater and A Dolphins Promise. We've
posted a few pictures from the event. It was an awesome event and we
are sure to participate in it again next year. Enjoy the photos! |
