Today was a great day of diving.
We started the dive day at Mr. Bud - a ship sunk in 2002 as part of the
artificial reef program. Sponge Bob was captaining that day :-).
In the reef surrounding the wreck we were able to spot (with the help of
dive master, Jimmy) two longsnout seahorses. As we were hanging out on
our safety stop Jimmy treated us to Nitrox rings.
In the afternoon we went to the
infamous Mary's Place. It was one of the better sites we visited on
the trip with all sorts of crevices and cracks to swim through.
On the second drop off dive of the
day we lost Sam (he knew where he was). He jumped in the water without
his weight belt...by the time he got the belt on and made his way back into
the water the boat had turned around and he followed the wrong wall back to
shore. He ended up crawling over a coral reef (now known as "Sam's
Place") and walked through the resort with all of his gear back to the
bungalow. With the exception of a scraped knee all ended well.
At night we visited the wreck of
the Prince Albert where we spent quite a bit of time with a Caribbean reef
octopus.
He had amazing color and flexibility. It was a great way to end a
great day.
