Today we made our
way to Mako Mountain (named for the Mako that once lived there) and San
Juan. The surface was a little rough (Sara ended up positioning
herself off the bow of the boat and snorkeling in place at Mako Mountain -
but there was plenty to see) but the diving, once again did not disappoint.
In the afternoon, we
headed off resort to take a tour of the Hato Caves. While it was warm,
it was an interesting adventure. The caves were used by slaves as a
hideout...you can still see smoke stains on the ceilings and walls as well
as coral fossils and such. One of the oddest things we saw though was
outside of the cave...it was a dog with teets...don't miss the picture
below.
In the
afternoon, we made our way back to the resort and Scott did a shore dive
(Sara snorkeled above him). The coolest thing he saw on this dive had
to be the two scorpion fish - one with its head inside the other's mouth.
