2005: We went to NC with Lynnhaven Dive Center to do a couple shark dives and see the
U-352 German U-boat sunk during WW-II. The shark diving was great and
we finally dove the U-352 (this was our fourth try)! We were able to take some pictures
so everyone can enjoy our dives. On the first day we dove the Papoose; an American tanker torpedoed and sunk on March 3, 1942 by the U-124. The wreck is a breeding ground for Sand Tiger Sharks. They were there (dozens of them) and were very friendly. We were also buzzed by a quick moving Sandbar Shark. It was a blast and the visibility was 80 to 100 feet! Day 2 led us to the U-352 and the Aeolis. We finally dove the sub!!! It was a great dive...the history laying on the bottom of the Atlantic is unbelievable. Then we dove the Aeolis on the way back to port. |
