| Labor Day
weekend 2003: We went
to NC to do a couple shark dives and see the U-352 German U-boat sunk during
WW-II. The
shark diving was great but the conditions didn't allow us to dive the
U-boat. We were able to take some pics even with the less than ideal
visibility. On the first day we dove the USS Indra and saw a huge sting ray; the wing span was 8-10 feet and his body and tail probably measured 20 feet. In front of the ray there were 6 to 8 nice size cobia. It was a great site. Day 2 led us to the wreck of the Atlas that is known for sand tiger sharks. They were there and were very friendly. It was a blast. We found some shark teeth on the deck of the wreck that were dislodged from the males when they fight over the females during mating times. |
